Hey all! Geez, 30 lashes with a wet noodle for the big lag time here! :(

So, there has been a bit going on here, and I am trying to get myself geared up for February, because boy howdy, it's going to be a hectic month!

Well, for starters, I gave my notice to my secondary job, and will no longer be an apartment manager after Feb. 6th. It took me a bit to get up the nerve to do it, but finally put in on paper and sent it off. I just had the realization that with AGT starting in February, and if not that, then trying to get the whole having-a-baby thing going, I needed to reduce the stress in my life, and NEITHER of those 2 things were condusive to the managing job. So, it was best for all parties that I realized it wasn't going to work.

So what that also means is that I am moving and need to be out by the end of February. I dislike moving and am sorely tempted to toss all extraneous items in the garbage (no, I wouldn't actually do that, but it IS tempting!) but instead, I will be doing some serious paring down again and making a few runs to Goodwill in the next 2 weeks. The less I have to move, the better, and I am tired of lugging all of this stuff, that really serves no purpose, around with me. I intend to be very ruthless about it all!

Why the rush? Because Kailyn, Drew, and I are head to 'Nawleans and Mardi Gras again, baby! This trip can NOT happen soon enough! I intend to eat lots of beniegts and drink fairly bad coffee, along with getting some geocaching time in as well! Gonna be a blast!

But that is also what I mean by Feb. being hectic. We will be gone from the 12th to the 18th, so that takes out a considerable chunk of moving time.

And then of course, the big audition for AGT. I STILL do not have a definite day yet, though. I have been carefully watching my email account, as I need to let my work know ASAP. My supervisor even hinted that they may not be able to cover my shift if it meant having to pay overtime to get it covered. And if that was the case, I couldn't go.

Ummm...I won't be in to work today. Why? Umm, I'm sick. Yeh, that's it, I'm sick. cough....cough....   ;)

I'm sure it will be fine.

And now for the final decision on my hair style for the audition. I am going to be honest and say that I am just not a fussing with my hair type of person. I really am all thumbs when it comes to anything fancy that I have to do to it (see F.I.T. pics for proof). It must have been left out of my DNA or something. SO, with that being said, I am keeping it simple. I will give it a little volume, but will be slick it down a bit, curling the ends up, and tucking it behind my ears. It looks fine, much better than last year, and so simple that I don't need to freak out about it. So that, at least, is settled for me.

But I'm STILL debating the song choice in my head! LOL

That's it from here! Good night, all!  Kari  :]

Hi Kari! I'm really, really hoping that you do "My Immortal" for the audition. I love that song and think the Judges and audience will too.

Hi Kari, Good to hear from you. I don't care which song you pick, just so you do it well & blow them away!! It's go to be hard to decide especially since, with the time frame, moving & all it's really got to be something you already know & are comfortable with. I just hope you can hang in there long enough to do "Rain on My Parade" . Absolutely love that one, you do a fantastic job on it. Do they send an e-mail direct to you with the audition info? Is it a general group type date notice for your general area or what? Hope they give you plenty of time. Too bad you can't give out info once it gets going, it's going to be hard to know you already know what happened but because of a stupid contract we'll have to wait for it to come on t.v. !
Good luck with all of it - move, audition, everything!!!!

As for the audition, you should defiantly consider "My Immortal” or Kelly Clarkson’s Breakaway there both great songs. Good luck in your new place and try not to get too stressed for the audition.

Hi Kari, Thought I sent this already, but guess I had a non-computer day....
Anyway just wondered if you had ever heard the song "Never Had A Dream Come True" by S Club 7? Just heard it yesterday & immediately though "great song for Kari!" Give it a listen & see what you think.... I think it would suit your voice perfectly (don't mean for AGT though, not enough time to get it under your belt probably) For later use, maybe, on U-Tube would be nice !!

Kari, of the songs I've seen you do, I think the strongest are definitely "My Immortal" or "Rain on My Parade", and if you go outside of that I hope you'll choose something that will similarly allow you to show off your voice, but like these will be melodious, catchy, and won't be a song that's been overdone. I think you've got great taste in music, and you can cover such a wide range of styles that it's just absolutely inspiring.

I just want you to know that when I sit down to watch AGT this year, it will be solely to see you rise to the top!

Hi Kari, couldn't agree with Jacqui more, I'll be watching AGT to see you go all the way to the top ! Keep us posted on the date, please. We don't want to miss it .... & my favorite so far is also "Rain". I am curious Kari, have you ever had singing lessons or a vocal coach?

I, for one, HATE My Immortal. It is such a downer and doesn't leave me feeling good and happy. I am afraid the judges might feel down too. Don't get me wrong, you sing it well, but I hope you pick a more positive and upbeat song. I still like I'm The Greatest Star or Don't Rain On My Parade.
