Well, the header again says it all.

Never heard from AGT and the top 40 videos are up on the youtube website.

And I am totally okay with it! I did everything I could do to get on this year and it just wasn't meant to be. And it sort of felt like that from the get go. But I don't want to forget to thank all of you for your kind words of encouragement! They all meant a lot!

And now for the Ellen Show suggestion. Where as I would LOVE to be on Ellen, I believe the contract that I signed with AGT prohibits me from doing talk shows for another year. If they wanted me on the show, I could certainly call and talk to the legal department again, but it didn't help with the Oprah thing, so not sure how much it would help in that situation either. But couldn't hurt to try, right? And as far as which video? DROMP is probably a good choice. Very appropriate, no?  ;)

Heading to Ithica, NY next week for my friend's wedding, so very excited about that. I DESPERATELY need a lightening bug fix! I just hope they're still out when I get there!

Ok, back to work I go! Have a great week everyone! Hugs!  Kari  :]

Well Kari.... Simon cowell runs this show, but I am very pissed the producers didn't pick you, but they let Howie Mandel judge. Get on Ellen. She just made her own record deal... There is a thing where you can send vids to her and she will respond. If not, I would suggest X Factor because that show allows anyone over 25 to audition. DO NOT GIVE UP. That talent show is a piece of shit. EXCEPT FOR PRINCE POPPYCOCK (loves the guy). Anyway, best wishes to you, and I hope you get to go on Ellen. She would love to hear from you.

This is the crap that Kari is facing with this feabag company and program
IT MUST HAVE TAKEN A WHOLE LAW FIRM TO WRITE THIS s@#$%T .
I feel sorry for anyone that has signed this piece of crap.
Go to this website for an eye opener.

PS. After reading more of this contract, Its inconceivable to me that any contestant has the educational level to understand this long contract. I have a PhD in Electronics and Communictions and I don't understand it.
There should be a law protecting the contestants after they have been rejected by this feabag outfit.

Well, maybe it is kismet, or Fate or whatever... But there is always next year, or the next show or who knows. With your voice if you keep trying I've no doubt you'll make it! :D

Hugs!

Too bad you did not get on this year you would have added a lot to the show. It is not the end of the world keep plugging away if it’s meant to be it will happen. That contract probably was written by a whole law firm to get a pound of flesh out of each contestant but that’s what you’re going have to expect from people like this. Relax and enjoy your trip too NY and have a GREAT summer.

Re: And that is all for AGT this year. Thanks for all the words of encouragement!! :)

Suggestion - get a consultation with a lawyer (they are usually free) and let them look over the contract. Seems to me you would be bound by the contract for LAST YEAR when you actually appeared. I doubt if they could do much to someone who merely sent in a video or went for the initial audition and then - at their choice - did not go any further. I don't think there is any way they could hamper your career if you were INVITED to appear on someone's TV show. One of us could send in a U-tube video to Ellen and request her to have you on the show. There are probably thousands of people who went to those initial auditions and I doubt they could stop anyone, let alone that many from ever appearing on any TV show or venue !!!

Oops, forgot to add, if you did complete that video you were working on did it get sent to AGT? Would you please post to U-Tube.... Thanks!

Re: And that is all for AGT this year. Thanks for all the words of encouragement!! :)

Kitty is right-you should have an attorney look over the contract. I understand last year, but this year-no way! I think you should go ahead and send in a video to Ellen-AGT be damned! It's their loss-you have the right to go ahead send in your videos to whatever show u like. Interesting fact: Arcadian Broad-the young dancer who made to the semi-finals,but got no further, got to appear on Ellen's show-sooooo-where was the restriction on him appearing on her show-NONE! Go ahead and send in a video to her or any show that will showcase your talent. I'm surprised that other talented contenstants who didn't get a second change haven't challanged the contact. Perhaps someone should. Nonetheless, forge on, Kari and we'll be here to support you.

Kari might be in left field but found this sight in Seattle which might be of interest to you.
Seattle on Hold plays music by some of Seattle's best artists on the city phone system and website. We hope you don't have to wait long when calling for a city service, but if you are on hold, you'll be able to listen to authentic Seattle music.

Re: And that is all for AGT this year. Thanks for all the words of encouragement!! :)

Maura is right about Arcadian Broad, I forgot about him. He was not the only one, there were 1 or 2 others who were spotlighted elsewhere. I just can't recall the details now. Somewhere in that contract there has to be something that indicates that if you are actually selected to appear on AGT then they have exclusive rights. Sometimes the legalese is deliberately obtuse so us ordinary folk are intimidated by it and decide not to risk it. I doublt if there is anything that says you cannot appear if you are "invited as a guest" on any other TV show. I'd go ahead and chance it. If the happen, by some miracle, to realize you are on another show & raise a flag, publicise the issue LOUDLY (we can help with that) & bring up the nasty way they treated you last year.... chances are they would back off quickly then!

Re: And that is all for AGT this year. Thanks for all the words of encouragement!! :)

The contract signed doesn't prevent you from performing elsewhere unless you specifically use the AGT name to promote that appearance without their consent. If you were to be ridiculed, hurt or life was made difficult in some way as a result of appearing on the show they are not liable for that and can use your likeness, video, singing clip, etc. in any way that they like at any time in the future because you signed the contract. It's standard stuff that allows them to make money off of you based on the audition appearance while not paying you a dime ever, unless they were to use some other song, likeness, original material that you did not submit to them, then that changes things to be in your favor. If you objected to the use of your appearance on the show or any part of it including the dirt that they could dig up and release based on what was said because you didn't understand the wording, it makes no difference as you signed the contract and that is covered in it 'ignorance of the law' is not recognized. Contacting Ellen as a singer and sending a link to your site is fine unless you didn't receive permission from the AGT producer to use 'their' clip of you on their show to promote yourself on another show by using the means that they supplied at that time. So, they can use your participation on their show whenever they like from now until the end of time and make money off of it. You have no conflict of interest as a year has passed since you appeared and you have that in writing. You making money off of that appearance is against their rules and they could collect a $50,000 fine that you signed to pay if you breached the contract as per the signed agreement. Personally, I'd send Ellen a new story along with new video of you singing that has no bearing on what went on at AGT and move forward. Good Luck in your future endeavors and enjoy your New York visit. Maybe someday we can sing a duet and see how that turns out? Take care. 8-)

Oh goodness!! I just looked at those videos on the youtube site for voting. OH GOODNESS!! I have no idea why Kari wasn't chosen! Most of them are just plain foolish!!!!!! I know that Kari would have blown the competition out of the water!

Kari, please dont give up, try again next year. You belong on the stage!

Lisa:
Your right about the 40 entered videos, I viewed each one and I only found one that I would vote for. Name Sandra Agababyam singing at last.. seems to have a fair voice, the others I thought were useless or very bad.
Sure was sad and disapointed that I didn't find Kari's smiling face on that gallery list.

Re: And that is all for AGT this year. Thanks for all the words of encouragement!! :)

Ok, I will be the "mean one".

I think you just waited too long to get your entry in. Even though you were on last year, they very well may have made their decisions up before you got your entry in.

Also, if they were reading your website, they may have decided not to "allow you" for this year because of the blog about you felt you were kind of "lost" and didn't know what you wanted to do and your friends said you seemed unhappy.

Honestly, if I were part of AGT and read that blog, I would not have allowed you in either. They just can't take the chance that with the pressure of being on this show, you could have had anything from a nervous breakdown to just wanting to quit. Look what happened to Susan Boyle, she lost it and then it was "rag news" all over the place.

You need to decide what you want to do in life and if it is pursue a singing career, then do it. You don't have to quit your job but GET THE VIDEO DONE NOW for Ellen and find someone with a decent camera and take the TIME to do it RIGHT so it looks/sounds good. Not something you did last second like with AGT. To me that showed you were not that interested because you waited till the last minute to enter and the producers probably thought the same thing.

If you get on Ellen and that could be enough to get your career going in the right direction. Maybe you can sing in some clubs in major cities, then who knows get an opening act for someone in Vegas and you will have your music career. It won't happen overnight, but it could happen.

Apply to sing the National anthem for sporting events. There are professional teams there, that would get you recognized. 60,000 people at a football game hearing you sing would not be too shabby. So there are many ways for you to get yourself "out there". Just have to get out and do it :)

It's like wanting a job. If you call and keep expressing your interest in the job do you think that would increase your chances for the job versus people who just interviewed and never showed any interest past that?

So being a "pest" with Ellen might just get you on the show.

Re: And that is all for AGT this year. Thanks for all the words of encouragement!! :)

David is right on..... sorry Kari, but somehow you got in a frame of mind this year where it was inevitable you would shoot yourself in the foot. Not sure if, subconciously, you really didn't want any part of AGT or what. It's so hard to go back to where you've been shut out & hurt the way you were with that show last year. Sometimes it's better to GO FORWARD & never look back ! I agree - focus on promoting yourself, get a REALLY good video done & go for it......
AGT be "d...mnd" !! Get positive, Kari - you CAN DO THIS!!!!! Move on girl & keep us all in the loop.

Kari:
If you watched any of the AGT last night ,I think you would have flash backs of last year. The idiotic foreigners who claim to be judges. did the same thing to Carlas Aponte as they did you. they tell the guy that he was the best audition ever on AGT then send him to Vegas just to tell him to go home. I thought for awhile they were going to do Alice Tan Ridkey the same way. They sent plane loads of trash to Hollywood.
